PLANT:
- Haworthia cooperi forms compact rosettes of fleshy, translucent leaves that are often arranged in a spiral pattern. The leaves are smooth, pointed, and can have a window-like appearance due to their transparent tips.
One distinctive feature of Haworthia cooperi is the presence of "windows" on the leaves. These clear areas allow sunlight to penetrate deeper into the leaf, facilitating photosynthesis in the interior of the rosette.
When Haworthia cooperi blooms, it produces slender, tubular flowers on long stalks. The flowers are typically white or pale pink and can appear in clusters.
- Water Needs: Low; allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. Water sparingly to prevent overwatering.
- Light Requirement: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade. Protect from intense, direct sunlight.
- Maintenance: Low; minimal pruning required, mainly to remove dead or withered leaves.
- Common Names: Cooper's Haworthia.
- Family: Asphodelaceae.
- Origin: Native to South Africa.
- Cold Tolerance: Not frost-resistant; protect from freezing temperatures.
- Heat Tolerance: Tolerates heat well and thrives in warm to hot conditions.
