PLANT:

  • Euphorbia obesa is often referred to as the "Baseball Plant" or "Globe-shaped Euphorbia" due to its distinctive shape. It typically forms a spherical or slightly flattened body, resembling a greenish-blue ball. The plant's body is segmented, and it can grow up to about 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter.
It produces small, inconspicuous flowers. The flowers are typically yellow-green and appear at the top of the plant.

  • Light Requirement: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade. Protect from intense, direct sunlight.
  • Maintenance: Low; minimal pruning required, mainly to remove dead or withered growth.
  • Common Names: Baseball Plant, Sea Urchin Cactus, Living Baseball.
  • Family: Euphorbiaceae.
  • Origin: Native to South Africa.
  • Cold Tolerance: Not frost-resistant; protect from freezing temperatures.
  • Heat Tolerance: Tolerates heat well and thrives in warm to hot conditions.
