PLANT:
- Echinopsis Eyriesii Cristata is a captivating cactus with a unique growth pattern. What makes it especially interesting is its rare cristate or "crested" form. Instead of growing as a typical columnar cactus, Echinopsis Eyriesii Cristata exhibits a mutation that causes it to develop a fascinating crested or fan-shaped growth pattern.
Echinopsis eyriesii is known for its vibrant and large flowers. The flowers can appear in various colors, including shades of white, pink, orange, or red. The blooms are usually short-lived but can be quite showy.
- Water Needs: Low; allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly to prevent overwatering.
- Light Requirement: Prefers bright, direct sunlight. Provide ample sunlight, especially during the growing season.
- Maintenance: Low; minimal pruning required, mainly to remove dead or withered growth.
- Common Names: Crested Echinopsis, Eyries's Hedgehog Cactus.
- Family: Cactaceae.
- Origin: Native to South America.
- Cold Tolerance: Not frost-resistant; protect from freezing temperatures.
- Heat Tolerance: Tolerates heat well and thrives in warm to hot conditions.
