PLANT:
- Echeveria 'Purple Pearl' is a stunning hybrid succulent prized for its striking foliage and compact rosette form. This cultivar features thick, spoon-shaped leaves with a mesmerizing gradient of purple hues, ranging from deep violet at the tips to pale green at the base. The rosettes can grow up to 6 inches in diameter and produce tall flower stalks adorned with bell-shaped flowers in shades of pink or coral.
- Water Needs: Moderate; water thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch, then allow it to dry out completely before watering again. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
- Light Requirement: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Protect from intense, direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day.
- Maintenance: Low; minimal pruning required. Remove dead or withered leaves as needed to maintain plant health and aesthetics. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming.
- Common Names: Echeveria 'Purple Pearl,' Purple Pearl Echeveria.
- Family: Crassulaceae.
- Origin: Cultivated hybrid; parent species likely include various Echeveria species native to Mexico.
- Cold Tolerance: Not frost-resistant; protect from freezing temperatures.
- Heat Tolerance: Tolerates heat well and thrives in warm to hot conditions.
