- Astrophytum asterias 'Super Kabuto' is a cultivar of the Astrophytum asterias species, a type of cactus commonly known as the "Star Cactus" or "Sea Urchin Cactus."
Because of its unique and intricate patterns, Astrophytum asterias 'Super Kabuto' is highly sought after by cactus collectors. Its appearance makes it a standout among other Astrophytum varieties.
Astrophytum asterias 'Super Kabuto' has a distinctive star-shaped appearance, characterized by numerous white or yellowish flecks on its greenish to brownish body. The flecks often create intricate patterns resembling constellations.
When mature, Astrophytum asterias 'Super Kabuto' can produce yellow flowers with a pleasant fragrance. The flowers are typically large and bloom from the apex of the cactus.
