PLANT:
- Pilosocereus chrysostele, known for its bold, columnar structure and blue-green stems, is a striking cactus native to Brazil. It has golden-yellow spines along its ridges, giving it a stunning contrast against its green body. This cactus can grow up to several feet tall. In summer, it may produce large, night-blooming white flowers that attract pollinators. This species is drought-tolerant and well-suited for warm, sunny climates, adding both height and a splash of color to your home.
- Water Needs: Low; water sparingly, allowing soil to dry out fully between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.
- Light Requirement: Prefers full sun to partial shade. Bright light helps maintain its vibrant color and spine development.
- Maintenance: Low; minimal pruning is needed. Handle with care due to its sharp spines. Can be propagated by cuttings.
- Common Names: Golden Torch Cactus, Pilosocereus chrysostele.
