Pachypodium lamerei, commonly known as the Madagascar Palm, is not a true palm but a succulent from the Apocynaceae family. It features a thick, spiny trunk that stores water and a crown of long, narrow leaves at the top, giving it a palm-like silhouette. In ideal conditions, it produces fragrant white flowers. Native to Madagascar, this plant thrives in arid climates and is popular as a dramatic architectural specimen in containers or dry gardens.
