PLANT
Haworthia bayeri ‘Jupiter’ × ‘Aboukyuu’ is a refined hybrid prized for its compact rosette and its translucent, sculptural leaves.
The thick, triangular foliage forms a tight, symmetrical structure, with dark green tones interrupted by subtle, glass-like windows that catch and diffuse light.
This hybrid combines the density and depth of ‘Jupiter’ with the sharper definition of ‘Aboukyuu’, resulting in a plant that feels both architectural and quietly luminous.
Rather than growing upward, it expands inward, creating a sense of containment, balance, and stillness.
Water Needs: Low.
Water only when the substrate has dried out completely. Reduce watering significantly during cooler months.
Light Requirement: Bright indirect light to light shade.
Avoid harsh direct sun, which can stress the leaves and dull their translucent markings.
Maintenance: Low.
Requires a very well-draining mineral substrate. Minimal handling is recommended to preserve the natural leaf surface.
Common Names: No widely used common names.
Family: Asphodelaceae
Origin: Hybrid cultivar (parent species native to South Africa)
Cold Tolerance: Sensitive to cold. Protect from temperatures below 5–7°C.
Heat Tolerance: Moderate. Prefers warmth with airflow and protection from extreme sun.
CERAMIC
Planted in a handcrafted Neraw ceramic vessel with a rounded, organic form that gently cradles the rosette.
The surface features layered glazes in mossy greens, earthy browns, and pale mineral tones, with subtle crackle textures that recall weathered stone and oxidized surfaces.
Its soft, almost geological volume contrasts with the precise geometry of the Haworthia, allowing the plant to remain the focal point.
Together, plant and ceramic form a quiet, meditative composition where translucency meets earth.
