PLANT:
- Haworthia Arachnoidea is a small, slow-growing succulent known for its rosette of spiky, dark green leaves covered in fine, white, spiderweb-like hairs. This gives it a unique, textured appearance that helps it blend into rocky habitats in its native South Africa. Unlike many succulents, it prefers indirect light and can tolerate some shade. It produces small, tubular white flowers on long, slender stalks in the summer.
- Water Needs:
Low; water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering in winter. - Light Requirement:
Bright, indirect light to partial shade. Too much direct sun can cause leaf scorching. - Maintenance:
Low; prefers well-draining soil and occasional feeding in the growing season. Protect from excessive moisture to prevent rot. - Common Names:
Spiderweb Haworthia. - Family:
Asphodelaceae. - Origin:
South Africa. - Cold Tolerance:
Not frost-hardy; protect from temperatures below 5°C. - Heat Tolerance:
Moderate; can handle warm temperatures but should be shaded from extreme heat.
