 PLANT:

  • Euphorbia tardieuana Leandri is a rare and sculptural succulent native to Madagascar, valued for its distinctive, twisted stems and compact, bonsai-like growth. It develops from a swollen caudex, which serves as a water reservoir, allowing it to thrive in arid environments. The stems are grey-green with small, deciduous leaves that appear at the tips during the growing season. Tiny yellow-green cyathia (flowers) emerge intermittently, adding a subtle touch of color. This species is highly prized among collectors of caudiciform and Malagasy succulents for its elegant, contorted form.
  • Water Needs:
Low; water sparingly during active growth and allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Keep almost dry during winter dormancy.
  • Light Requirement:
Full sun to bright indirect light. Prefers strong light to maintain compact form and accentuate its sculptural structure.
  • Maintenance:
Low; plant in fast-draining, gritty soil. Avoid overwatering and protect from cold drafts. Handle with care, as the milky latex sap is toxic and may irritate the skin.
  • Common Names:
    No widely used common names
  • Family:
    Euphorbiaceae
  • Origin:
    Madagascar
  • Cold Tolerance:
    Protect from temperatures below 10°C.
  • Heat Tolerance:
Excellent; thrives in warm, dry climates with good airflow.

CERAMIC:

Planted in a handcrafted Neraw vessel with layered, flowing edges that resemble eroded rock or coral formations.
Its greenish glaze shifts between matte and glossy tones, revealing subtle earthy burns from the kiln, traces of fire and touch that make each piece one of a kind.
The irregular folds cradle the plant naturally, creating a visual dialogue between ceramic and living form.
