PLANT

Ceropegia simoneae is a rare and highly sculptural species from East Africa, distinguished by its angular, spined stems and its slow, deliberate growth habit.
Unlike trailing Ceropegia species, this form develops rigid, zig-zagging shoots with pronounced, tooth-like protrusions, giving the plant an almost reptilian or fossil-like character.
The stems curve and twist organically, creating a sense of movement frozen in time, while remaining compact and controlled.
This is a plant that feels more carved than grown, drawing attention through structure, tension, and quiet strangeness.

Water Needs: Low.
Water sparingly during the growing season, allowing the substrate to dry out fully between waterings. Keep almost dry in cooler periods.

Light Requirement: Bright indirect light to gentle direct sun.
Good light maintains firm growth and accentuates the sharp geometry of the stems.

Maintenance: Low.
Requires a very well-draining, mineral-based substrate. Avoid excess moisture and prolonged humidity.

Common Names: No widely used common names.

Family: Apocynaceae

Origin: East Africa

Cold Tolerance: Sensitive to cold. Protect from temperatures below 10°C.

Heat Tolerance: Very good. Performs well in warm, dry conditions with airflow.

CERAMIC

Planted in a handcrafted Neraw ceramic vessel with a tall, tapered form that amplifies the plant’s outward movement.
The vessel features a raw black upper body with subtle drips and surface tension, transitioning into a warm, sandy lower section that feels earthen and sun-baked.
This strong contrast of dark and light mirrors the sharp, green geometry of the Ceropegia, reinforcing the sense of a form emerging from heat and pressure.
Together, plant and ceramic create a bold, graphic composition where line, texture, and imbalance are intentionally held in equilibrium.
