PLANT:
- One of the key features of Astrophytum myriostigma is its unique rib structure. The cactus has several pronounced, star-shaped ribs that run vertically along its body. The ribs are usually evenly spaced and can give the plant a geometric appearance.
When in bloom, Astrophytum myriostigma produces striking, yellow flowers at the crown of the cactus. The flowers are relatively large and can have red or brown markings near the center.
Like other members of the Astrophytum genus, Astrophytum myriostigma is known for its slow growth. While this might test the patience of the gardener, it contributes to the longevity of the plant.
