PLANT:
- Portulacaria afra 'Variegata,' also known as Variegated Elephant Bush, is a drought-tolerant succulent shrub with small, rounded leaves featuring a mix of green and creamy-white hues. The reddish-brown stems add a striking contrast, making it a visually appealing addition to succulent collections. Native to South Africa, this plant is highly adaptable and can be grown as a ground cover, bonsai, or potted houseplant. It is also known for its ability to absorb carbon efficiently, making it an eco-friendly choice.
- Water Needs: Low; allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly in winter.
- Light Requirement: Bright, indirect light to full sun. More sunlight enhances its variegation.
- Maintenance: Low; grows best in well-draining soil and benefits from occasional pruning to maintain shape.
- Common Names: Variegated Elephant Bush, Rainbow Bush.
- Family: Didiereaceae.
- Origin: South Africa.
- Cold Tolerance: Can tolerate temperatures down to 5°C but should be protected from frost.
- Heat Tolerance: High; thrives in warm climates and can withstand intense sun.
CERAMIC:
- Size: cm tall x cm wide.
- Stoneware handmade pot with a Black glaze
- Fired up to 1200°C
- Also glazed in the interior of the pot, to keep the plant roots safe.
