PLANT
Epithelantha micromeris is a miniature cactus native to northern Mexico and the southern United States, celebrated for its delicate scale and its intricate, lace-like spination.
The plant forms small, rounded to short-cylindrical bodies wrapped in ultra-fine white spines that create a soft, snow-dusted appearance while still remaining unmistakably architectural.
Up close, the surface reads like embroidery, a dense pattern that turns a tiny cactus into a collector’s object.
In the right conditions it can reward patience with tiny flowers, followed by vivid red fruits that feel almost unreal against the pale texture.
Water Needs: Low.
Water sparingly during the growing season, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings. Keep nearly dry in winter.
Light Requirement: Bright light to full sun.
Strong light supports compact growth and healthy spine formation. Introduce direct sun gradually.
Maintenance: Low.
Requires an extremely well-draining mineral substrate and excellent airflow. Avoid excess moisture, especially in cooler periods.
Common Names: Button Cactus (occasionally used)
Family: Cactaceae
Origin: Northern Mexico, Southern United States
Cold Tolerance: Sensitive to frost. Keep above 5°C and dry during cold periods.
Heat Tolerance: Excellent. Thrives in warm, dry conditions.
CERAMIC
Planted in a handcrafted Neraw ceramic vessel inspired by eroded stone and coastal rock formations.
Its porous, sand-toned surface and irregular cavities echo weathered limestone, giving the piece an archeological, timeworn presence.
The low, open form frames the cactus without overpowering it, letting the fine white texture become the focal point.
Together, plant and ceramic create a quiet composition where micro-scale detail meets geological weight.
